The Connolly Foundation has initiated the Little Ireland Research Project which explores the experience of the Irish community in Scotland's capital city. Our team of researchers are uncovering the hidden histories of immigrant and working class communities using various methodologies. In spring of 2011 we plan a publication and exhibition under the working title of 'James Connolly's Edinburgh'.

Specific areas our researchers are currently working on include: 

• Early Irish immigration 

• James Connolly's role in the foundation of Edinburgh's labour and trades union movement 

• An oral history of the Irish in Edinburgh 

• James Connolly's legacy in Edinburgh
